The Central Securities Depository has launched the Crypto Asset Central Record System.
The Central Registry Institution (MKK) has activated the Crypto Asset Central Registry System to ensure the integration between MKK and Crypto Asset Service Providers.
On March 13, 2025, the function of the Central Securities Depository within the framework of the "Communiqué on the Principles of Establishment and Activities of Crypto Asset Service Providers" and the "Communiqué on the Working Procedures and Principles and Capital Adequacy of Crypto Asset Service Providers" published in the Official Gazette by the Capital Markets Board on (SPK) has become clear.
Accordingly; the buying and selling of crypto assets, initial sales or distribution, exchanges, transfers, and the custody and other operations required for these, as well as the customer balances and custody balance information of the platforms, will be reported to the Crypto Asset Central Registry System to be created by MKK (KVMKS) by Crypto Asset Service Providers (KVHS).
Investors will be able to compare the records of their crypto assets from MKK's e-INVESTOR application, and the KVMKS data with the platform. In the statement on the subject, it was noted that all the necessary processes for the development of KVMKS have been initiated within the MKK, and the infrastructure developments of the system continue intensively.
The MKK initiated the necessary technical and system integration tests with KVHSs for the platforms and custodians included in the "Operating List" published on the CMB website to apply for an operating license to the CMB. In this context, the deadline for KVHS to apply to the CRA has been determined as June 20, 2025.
